Wescan Energy Corp. Commences Drilling of New Multilateral Well in Provost Area
Calgary, Alberta — September 11, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Wescan Energy Corp. has commenced drilling operations on its third multilateral horizontal well in the Provost area of east-central Alberta. The Wescan 105 Provost 15-21-38-3 well spudded on September 10th, 2026, targeting the Rex Member of the Mannville Group.
Drilling is projected to take approximately 15 days, with an update to be provided once the well reaches total depth. The operation is fully financed by a $1.3 million convertible debenture financing announced on September 9th, 2026, supplemented by existing cash reserves.
Sarshar Ahmad, Chief Operating Officer of Wescan, highlighted the meticulous planning involved in the well’s execution. “Every part of this well, from the target selection and the directional plan to the rig, the crews and the schedule, was put in place well before the licence was issued, which is why we were able to spud within days of receiving it,” Ahmad stated. “The crew is drilling ahead on plan, and we intend to bring this well on production on time and on budget.”
