Cascade Copper Announces Final Results From Centrefire Project Drilling Program, Revealing Significant Copper and Gold Mineralization
October 15, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Cascade Copper Corp. (CSE: CASC/FRA: 91O) announced final results from its Phase 1 maiden drilling program at the Centrefire Copper-Gold Project, located approximately 40 kilometres from Dryden, Ontario. The five-hole, 600-metre program intersected veining and sulphide mineralization indicative of a potential hybrid magmatic-hydrothermal copper-gold system, as well as a separate Banded Iron Formation (BIF) hosted gold environment.
Drill Hole CF-26-04, a deeper undercut of CF-26-03, returned multiple intersections of over 1% copper equivalent (CuEq) over significant widths within a broad mineralized envelope. The company stated that this hole showed mineralization for its entire length with higher-grade intersections within. Hole CF-26-01 intersected a gold-bearing BIF and a gold-silver rich sulphide zone, identified as new targets.
Shannon Baird, Vice President of Exploration with Cascade Copper, described the final assays as a “total game-changer” for the project. He noted that drilling Hole 4 deeper resulted in the system widening and intensifying, prompting plans for a Phase 2 program. The discovery of gold-bearing BIF and a gold-silver rich sulphide zone in Hole 01 has also opened up potential for further discovery along the regional trend covered by Cascade’s claims at Centrefire.
The Centrefire project, spanning 2,500 hectares, is situated in the Wabigoon Greenstone Belt in Northwestern Ontario. Historical exploration by Phelps Dodge between 1968 and 1970 identified several stacked intervals of copper, gold, and nickel mineralization. Recent work by Cascade has confirmed surface mineralization and refined geophysical models.
Discussion of the drill results suggests that the Centrefire project is likely a high-energy Intrusion-Related / High-Temperature Magmatic-Hydrothermal Hybrid System, rather than a classic Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide (VMS) environment. This is based on the absence of zinc and sodium depletion, and the presence of anomalous tungsten (W) and bismuth (Bi), which are indicators of thermal proximity to the source.
The BIF-Au target in Hole CF-26-01 identified distinct mineralized horizons. The Upper Lower-Grade Zone returned 0.31 g/t Au over 15.50m. Below this, a Higher-Grade Sulfide-Replacement Zone yielded 1.02 g/t Au over 2.75m, including 1.55 g/t Au and 0.18% Cu over a 1.0-metre sample. A Deep Bulk Magnetite-Pyrrhotite BIF Zone returned 0.10 g/t Au over 11.70m, indicating a deep-seated system.
The company highlighted several key aspects for the project’s outlook: the deep vectoring success of Hole 04, which returned richer intervals beneath previous holes; the “hybrid gold multiplier” where gold grades in Hole 04 are significant alongside copper; the de-risking of Phase 2 targets based on validated sub-surface data; and the validation of the BIF exploration thesis by hitting 0.10 g/t Au over the width of the BIF.
Cascade Copper Corp. is an exploration stage natural resource company focused on copper and gold mineral resource properties. The company utilizes modern exploration techniques including 3D inversion modelling of geophysics, LiDAR elevation models, and AI enhanced Predictive Modelling.
