CMX Gold & Silver Corp. Appoints Rick Walker as Vice President, Exploration

Calgary, Alberta — August 13, 2026 — Leads & Copy — CMX Gold & Silver Corp. announced today the appointment of Rick Walker as Vice President, Exploration, effective immediately. Walker, who has served as CMX’s consulting geologist for the past decade, brings extensive experience to the role.

CMX CEO Jan Alston expressed enthusiasm for the addition, stating, “We’re excited to strengthen our executive leadership team with the addition of Rick Walker.” Alston highlighted Walker’s comprehensive analysis of historical data for the Clayton Silver Mine, which has provided him with a deep understanding of the project’s resource potential. His expertise is expected to be crucial in developing the Clayton Silver Project, particularly as the company prepares to conduct its first-ever geophysical program on the property, followed by an extensive drilling program.

Mr. Walker holds a B.Sc. (Geology) obtained in 1986 and an M.Sc. (Geology) in 1989 from the University of Calgary. He is a Professional Geologist registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. His career spans over 35 years of field experience on diverse projects across Canada, the United States, and South America. Walker has managed exploration programs for precious metals, with a focus on silver, as well as base metals for organizations ranging from junior to major mining companies.

In connection with his appointment, CMX has issued 400,000 stock options to Mr. Walker. These options are exercisable at $0.27 per share, have a five-year term, and will vest one-third immediately, with an additional one-third vesting on each of the first and second anniversaries of the grant date.

The Clayton Silver Project, CMX’s wholly-owned flagship asset, is situated in the Bayhorse Mining District of central Idaho. The 1,028-acre property includes 29 patented mining claims and two patented mill sites, covering approximately 562 acres, along with 20 unpatented claims spanning approximately 466 acres. The patented claims offer surface ownership rights, are free of government royalties, and do not require drilling permits.

Beginning September 7, 2026, a geophysical program will commence over the historic mine and adjacent structures. This program will include a 3-D Direct Current Induced Polarization (DCIP) survey and a Magnetotelluric (MT) survey. The objective of these surveys is to identify known and new vein structures, delineate extensions of partially mined ore bodies, and evaluate deeper mineralization sources. Diamond drilling is planned to test priority targets identified by these surveys.

The Clayton Silver Mine operated intermittently from 1935 to 1986 and was a significant underground operation within the district. Historical records indicate production of approximately 7.0 million ounces of silver, along with lead, zinc, copper, and minor gold, from an estimated 2.15 million tonnes of ore. The mine’s underground development extended to eight levels, reaching a depth of 1,100 feet, with nearly 19,700 feet of workings. Two tabular ore bodies, the South and North Ore Bodies, were partially mined. Historical drilling and mine records suggest that mineralization remains open to depth and along strike. Notably, drill hole 1501-A intersected 22 feet of high-grade polymetallic mineralization at approximately 1,425 feet, indicating continuity below the deepest historic workings. CMX has observed that modern geophysical work and systematic exploration drilling were limited during the mine’s operational history.
