Western Star Resources Submits Exploration Notice for Eagle Point Tungsten Project in New Mexico

October 27, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has submitted an Exploration Notice to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for its Eagle Point Tungsten Project in Hidalgo County, New Mexico, marking a significant step towards commencing its first drilling program at the site in over 70 years.

The 43 CFR 3809 Exploration Notice, filed on October 22, 2026, with the BLM’s Las Cruces District Office, outlines a planned 17-hole, approximately 6,000-foot exploration program. This initiative aims to test refined drill targets identified through the Company’s 2026 surface mapping and sampling efforts.

Blake Morgan, CEO and President of Western Star, stated that the filing of the Exploration Notice moves the Eagle Point project from field exploration to the verge of drilling. He noted that the 2026 surface work provided clear targets along the granite contact, which the planned program is designed to test beneath surface exposures and talus cover. Morgan also expressed appreciation for KC Harvey Environmental’s work in preparing the submission and highlighted the importance of advancing a domestic tungsten project at a time when secure U.S. supply is a national priority.

The exploration program involves 17 HQ core holes from 12 drill pads, with planned depths ranging from 164 to 820 feet, targeting the steeply dipping skarn contact. The total proposed surface disturbance is limited to 1.71 acres, encompassing the drill pads, approximately 0.56 miles of temporary connector roads, and a single laydown area. All new disturbances are slated for concurrent reclamation.

Western Star has secured surface access through an agreement with the private surface owner for road access and activities on private land. The company is currently tendering drilling contractors and establishing logistics for the program.

The Exploration Notice was filed under the BLM’s surface management regulations at 43 CFR Subpart 3809. It includes details on location, access, project layout, claims information, typical drill pad layouts, and GIS shapefiles. Approximately 1.35 acres of the proposed disturbance, including eight drill pads, the laydown area, and most connector roads, are on private surface land. The remaining 0.36 acres, comprising four pads and approximately 565 feet of connector road, are on BLM-administered land. Access to the project area will utilize approximately 3.3 miles of existing roads from U.S. Highway 81 without requiring upgrades.

Drilling will employ a water-based fluid system with a closed-loop centrifuge, eliminating the need for in-ground sumps or mud pits. Drilling water will be purchased from a commercial supplier and trucked to the site, with no on-site well or surface water diversion planned. Each drill hole will be plugged and abandoned upon completion, and all disturbed areas will be recontoured, topsoiled, and seeded.

The Notice outlines an operating period from December 2026 through December 2027. Prior to drilling, Western Star will submit permit applications to the New Mexico Mining and Minerals Division and filings to the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer. The company will also post a reclamation financial guarantee, anticipated to be held jointly by the BLM and the Mining and Minerals Division. Supplemental vegetation documentation and cultural resource assessments will also be provided to the BLM.

In parallel, Western Star is finalizing collar locations using its Leapfrog Geo model and proceeding with contractor selection and logistics setup. No Mineral Resource has been established at Eagle Point.

Scientific and technical information in the press release was reviewed and approved by Jacob Anderson, CPG (#12160), MAusIMM (#3089445), an independent consultant and Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Anderson is independent of the Company.

Western Star Resources is a mineral exploration company focused on acquiring, exploring, and advancing mineral properties, with a strategic emphasis on tungsten and critical minerals in the United States. The Company is advancing past-producing tungsten assets in Nevada and New Mexico, alongside exploration efforts at its Western Star property in British Columbia.
