Great Plains Metals Corp. Announces Significant Exploration Update for North Gawler Craton Project in South Australia
Vancouver, BC, Canada — October 27, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Great Plains Metals Corp. (“GPS” or “the Company”) has announced a significant exploration update for its North Gawler Craton Project in South Australia, revealing widespread outcropping oxide copper mineralization and an emerging district-scale, intrusive-related copper-gold system. The project, managed by joint-venture partner Eversley Resources Pty Limited (“Eversley”), in which GPS holds a 37.1% equity stake with an option to increase ownership, presents high-value asset diversification and strategic district-scale potential.
A maiden field reconnaissance campaign completed by Eversley identified dual exploration upside: high-grade near-surface oxide copper potential and primary intrusion-related targets. Key highlights include the identification of district-scale intrusion-hosted mineralization associated with outcropping monzonite-syenite intrusive bodies across a 25–30 km long by 10–15 km wide corridor within tenement EL6590. The geological interpretation has shifted from undercover Iron Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) targets to outcropping, intrusive-related porphyry systems. First-pass sampling has confirmed high-grade oxide copper potential, with selective grab samples from historical workings at Coominaree returning peak values of 31.1% Cu, 1.07 g/t Au, and 39.5 g/t Ag, and at Warloan, 29.2% Cu, 1.48 g/t Au, and 22.4 g/t Ag.
Assay results from initial reconnaissance rock chip sampling around early-1900s mine workings have updated the geological focus of the emerging district to the Bungadillica Monzonite Suite, an expansive early Paleozoic multiphase intrusive complex. Field mapping has delineated a structural corridor hosting numerous outcropping monzonite-syenite intrusive centers over an area 25 to 30 km long by 10 to 15 km wide within tenement EL6590. These previously unrecognized intrusive monzonites and stockwork zones in close proximity to historical workings are considered highly encouraging for this early stage of exploration.
Eversley has prioritized three distinct prospect areas for immediate follow-up. The Coominaree Prospect is defined by a robust, continuous surface footprint with historical prospecting pits and strong copper-in-soils anomalies extending over an initial 700-meter open strike length, embedded within a broader regional corridor. First-pass sampling has confirmed widespread rich supergene oxide copper occurrences, with selective oxide grab samples from old workings yielding up to 31.1% Cu, 1.07 g/t Au, and 39.5 g/t Ag.
The Warloan–Victory Prospect is a large approximately 5 km² target search space characterized by high-grade structurally controlled quartz lodes outcropping within an area of historically mapped quartz veining. The Warloan historical mine was worked between 1916 to 1920 from a 100-meter long open pit. Selective oxide grabs of coarse run-of-mine ore piles returned values of 29.2% Cu, 1.48 g/t Au, and 22.4 g/t Ag. The Last Chance Prospect is highlighted by an open copper-in-soils anomaly extending over 600 meters long, surrounded by scattered surface copper occurrences within a 2.5 km² grid, symmetrically distributed around a strongly altered, newly identified monzonite and hydrothermal alteration center.
A follow-up field campaign is currently underway, focusing on detailed mapping and drill targeting across the Coominaree and Warloan-Victory prospects. Assay results from this fieldwork are expected in December, which will aid in determining targets for a drill program planned for the April to October 2027 field season. The Company is building a copper exploration portfolio in Australia’s premier mining jurisdictions, including its flagship Goodrich Project in NSW and the North Gawler Craton Project in SA.
GPS holds a 37.1% strategic equity stake in Eversley Resources, having increased its ownership from an initial 24.4% through sequential exploration funding tranches totaling A$500,000. GPS retains an option to further increase its equity stake by investing an additional A$750,000 contingent upon drilling permit approvals. Exploration operations continue to be managed on-site by Eversley’s technical team.
Peeyush Varshney, CEO of Great Plains Metals Corp., commented that the identification of multiple outcropping copper occurrences associated with intrusive bodies across this regional-scale corridor represents a significant new shift in the technical direction of the North Gawler Craton Project. He noted that encountering widespread, outcropping copper showings indicates potential for near-surface supergene mineralization and primary intrusion-hosted deposits, complementing the company’s focus at the Goodrich Project in New South Wales. This dual-track approach provides shareholders with exposure to near-term drill catalysts at Goodrich and grassroots district-scale discovery potential in South Australia.
