Omineca Mining and Metals Ltd. Regains Full Control of Wingdam Paleoplacer Project
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan — October 27, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Omineca Mining and Metals Ltd. has regained full control of its Wingdam Paleoplacer project after the Licensed Insolvency Trustee, MNP Ltd., disclaimed and quit claimed D&L Mining Corp’s interest in the property. This follows the declared, voluntary bankruptcy of D&L Mining Corp, as previously announced on October 9, 2026.
Omineca has taken immediate steps to secure management of the mine site to ensure operational continuity. The Company has engaged PSI Mining of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to assume temporary operating responsibility for the Wingdam placer project.
This development allows Omineca’s management to finalize an agreement with a development partner prepared to advance the project without delay. The Wingdam Paleoplacer project is Omineca’s flagship asset, focused on hard rock exploration and placer gold recovery.
The Wingdam Property, located 45 km east of Quesnel, BC, along the Barkerville Highway, comprises mineral tenures totaling 61,392 hectares (613 square kms) and over 15 linear kilometers of placer claims. These claims encompass the Lightning Creek valley, where thick overburden has preserved a paleochannel containing placer gold-bearing gravels. Omineca is also exploring for the potential hard rock sources of this placer gold.
Additionally, Omineca’s Fraser Canyon Project, located 12 kilometers northwest of Quesnel, BC, is slated to reinitiate the development of an underground paleochannel for placer gold recovery. Historically, two mines in the vicinity of the Fraser River collectively produced 1,482 ounces of raw placer gold.
