Trailbreaker Resources Completes Maiden Drill Program at Highlands Zone, Mobilizes to Swan Zone at Atsutla Gold Project
July 27, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Trailbreaker Resources Ltd. (TBK.V) has announced the successful conclusion of its initial drill program at the Highlands Zone and the relocation of its drill rig to the Swan Zone, both located on the company’s wholly-owned Atsutla Gold Project in northwestern British Columbia. The 300 km² property hosts both zones, which are geologically distinct and situated 26 km apart.
The Highlands Zone drilling focused on high-grade, vein-hosted gold, silver, and copper, while the Swan Zone will be explored for its potential as a copper-gold-silver porphyry target. The Highlands Zone is situated within the Jurassic Christmas Creek batholith, and the Swan Zone lies within the Cretaceous Glundebery batholith.
Daithi Mac Gearailt, CEO of Trailbreaker, expressed optimism regarding the Swan Zone, describing it as one of the most promising targets in the company’s portfolio. He noted that the prospect has been developed over the past five years through systematic exploration, including geological mapping, soil geochemistry, induced polarization (IP), and airborne magnetic surveys. The completed Highlands Zone drill program adhered to schedule and budget, and Mac Gearailt anticipates a similar execution for the Swan Zone drilling.
The Highlands Zone drill program comprised four holes totalling 883.40 metres, testing a 500-metre strike length and a vertical depth of 412 metres. Further details on the Highlands Zone drill target were provided in a news release dated June 29, 2026.
The Swan Zone, a copper-gold-silver porphyry target within the Cretaceous Glundebery batholith, has been extensively surveyed using geochemical and geophysical methods to define drill targets. These targets are situated within a 1.5 km by 1.5 km multi-element soil geochemical anomaly (gold, copper, silver, arsenic, molybdenum, antimony, bismuth). Rock grab samples from the zone have yielded grades of up to 11.7 g/t gold, 212 g/t silver, and 0.81% copper. This anomaly coincides with a 2.1 km by 1.4 km donut-shaped chargeability high identified by a 2024 induced polarization survey, as well as an area of elevated potassium associated with a magnetic low signature from 2024 airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys. While limited historical drilling has occurred in an adjacent valley, the Swan Zone itself has not yet been drilled.
The upcoming diamond drill program at the Swan Zone will target these surface geochemical and geophysical anomalies. The program is expected to test an estimated strike length of 1,000 metres to a vertical depth exceeding 400 metres. Trailbreaker anticipates this preliminary drilling will enhance the understanding of mineralization controls and the overall deposit model, providing a foundation for future, more focused drill campaigns.
In addition to the Atsutla Gold Project, Trailbreaker plans to drill several copper-gold porphyry targets at its Coho property in September 2026. The Coho property is located 30 km northwest of the Mt. Milligan mine in central BC. Details on these programs were previously released on May 25, 2026.
The Atsutla Gold Project is strategically positioned over the Teslin-Thibert fault system, a regional structure marking the boundary between the Quesnel and Cache Creek terranes. Gold mineralization at the project is linked to Mesozoic batholitic intrusions, the dominant geological feature on the property. Since its discovery in 2020, Trailbreaker has identified five significant gold mineralization zones spanning 26 kilometres on the property: the Highlands Zone (2.0 km by 1.5 km area with veins assaying up to 630 g/t gold and 1,894 g/t silver), the Christmas Creek Zone (1.5 km east of Highlands, with rock samples up to 102 g/t gold and 524 g/t silver), the Snook Zone (3.5 km northeast of Highlands, with rock samples up to 53.3 g/t gold), the Willie Jack Zone (1.25 km long gold-in-soil anomaly with soil samples up to 3.77 g/t gold and rock samples up to 9.9 g/t gold), and the Swan Zone.
