Clean Energy Transition Inc. Selects Sunly Energy as Installer-Partner for TranFin Residential EaaS Platform Pilot
October 26, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Clean Energy Transition Inc. (TSX-V: TRAN) has selected Sunly Energy as the Installer-Partner for the initial phase of its residential Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) platform, TranFin. This announcement follows the recent successful closing of financing for the TranFin Pilot Phase and the company’s participation in the Electricity Transformation Canada conference.
Sunly Energy, a Canadian residential solar and energy storage installer headquartered in Prince Edward Island with operations across Eastern Canada and Ontario, was founded in 2019 and has since completed numerous residential installations. Under the TranFin Pilot program, Sunly will collaborate with Clean Energy Transition Inc. to identify and install residential battery storage projects, with an initial focus on the Maritime provinces.
TranFin operates on a third-party ownership (TPO) model. Through this model, TranFin funds, owns, monitors, and maintains residential energy assets installed on homeowners’ properties. Homeowners benefit from these assets via a long-term subscription arrangement, eliminating the need for upfront equipment purchase costs. The Pilot Phase will concentrate on battery storage installations, aiming to establish and refine TranFin’s processes for customer contracting, installation, monitoring, and servicing before a wider rollout.
“Sunly brings the local experience, established customer relationships and installation capabilities we were looking for in our first Installer-Partner,” said Sean Samson, President and CEO of Clean Energy Transition Inc. “With our Pilot financing completed and Sunly alongside us, we are moving from developing the TranFin model toward now deploying our first portfolio of residential energy assets.”
Following the Pilot Phase, TranFin is preparing for its “Ramp Phase.” This next stage is expected to see the platform expand into additional Canadian provinces, onboard more Installer-Partners, and incorporate a broader range of energy assets, including residential solar photovoltaic systems and combined solar and battery installations. Heat pumps are also being considered for future inclusion.
Clean Energy Transition Inc. is actively seeking relationships in three key areas: equipment manufacturers and suppliers for supply, warranty, and servicing arrangements; Installer-Partners who wish to offer homeowners a TPO alternative for residential battery, solar, and related energy systems; and financing partners to support the ownership and growth of TranFin’s residential energy asset portfolios.
The company’s overarching objective is to create a scalable platform that provides homeowners with access to energy assets without the initial purchase cost, supports installers in converting potential customers into completed projects, and builds a portfolio generating long-term recurring subscription revenues.
Recent discussions at the Electricity Transformation Canada conference in Toronto involved equipment suppliers, prospective Installer-Partners, and financing groups, advancing preparations for the Pilot installations and the commercial and financing arrangements necessary for TranFin’s Ramp Phase. These meetings were described as productive opportunities to progress both the immediate Pilot launch and the preparations for the Ramp Phase.
Companies interested in exploring equipment supply arrangements, becoming a TranFin Installer-Partner, or participating in Ramp Phase financing are encouraged to contact Clean Energy Transition Inc. via email at info@transition.inc.
