Aequus Pharmaceuticals Inc. Announces CEO and Director Resignations Amid Unpaid Promissory Note Claim
Vancouver, British Columbia — July 28, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Aequus Pharmaceuticals Inc. has announced significant changes to its leadership and board of directors, including the resignations of its Chief Executive Officer and several directors. Giovanni Di Genova resigned as a director of the Company effective May 7, 2026. Subsequently, Doug Janzen resigned as Chief Executive Officer and a director, and Marc Lustig resigned as a director, both effective July 27, 2026.
The Company also addressed a letter received from Mr. Janzen dated December 20, 2025, in which he demanded payment of amounts allegedly owed under certain promissory notes and provided notice of default. Aequus Pharmaceuticals Inc. acknowledged receipt of this demand. As of the date of this news release, the amount claimed by Mr. Janzen, totaling $6,514,919, has not been paid.
