China Gold International Resources Approves Major Development Plan for Jiama Mine
VANCOUVER, British Columbia — August 13, 2026 — Leads & Copy — China Gold International Resources Corp. Ltd. announced it has approved a development plan for its Jiama Copper-Polymetallic Mine in China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, aiming to significantly increase mining and processing capacity. The plan, submitted by its wholly owned subsidiary Tibet Huatailong Mining Development Co., Ltd., proposes to raise the mine’s capacity from the current 50,000 tonnes per day to approximately 160,000 tonnes per day.
This expansion is contingent upon the results of an ongoing Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS), further internal review, and all necessary regulatory approvals. The development plan follows a substantial increase in Jiama’s Mineral Resource base, as detailed in the Company’s updated Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates.
The PFS is expected to be completed by the end of the year and will assess the optimal mine plan, engineering configuration, capital requirements, and project economics, which will guide any future investment and construction decisions. The proposed expansion also signifies a strategic shift from the current combined open pit and underground mining approach to a primarily super pit mining strategy, designed to improve operational efficiency and achieve economies of scale.
The development plan includes the integrated development of both the existing mining license area and an adjacent exploration license area, pending the PFS outcomes and required approvals. The Company anticipates that the Youlongbu Tailings Storage Facility, currently under construction, will be finished by the end of 2027 and will support the planned development schedule without becoming a bottleneck.
The Company provided updated Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates as of June 30, 2026. The Mineral Resource estimates for the Jiama Project indicated a total of 1,335 million tonnes (Mt) of Measured and Indicated resources with an average grade of 0.69% copper (Cu), among other metals. The Inferred resources totaled 454.7 Mt. These estimates are in accordance with NI 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects.
Mineral Reserve estimates as of the same date included 538.5 Mt of underground reserves with an average grade of 0.96% CuEq and 112.74 Mt of open-pit reserves with an average grade of 0.49% CuEq. These reserves were estimated based on specific mining and economic factors, including dilution factors, recovery rates, slope angles, and commodity prices.
An updated National Instrument 43-101 Technical Report, incorporating these estimates, will be filed on SEDAR+ within 45 days. The Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates presented supersede all previously disclosed estimates.
Hou Chenguang, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of China Gold International, stated that the approval of the next development phase at Jiama is a significant milestone for the Company’s long-term growth. He emphasized the strategy of creating sustainable shareholder value through disciplined organic growth by maximizing existing assets, with Jiama and CSH forming the foundation of this strategy. He expressed confidence in Jiama’s future and the Company’s commitment to its strategic objectives.
